Jarrod Smith
Born and raised in Texas, Jarrod Smith is an aggressive criminal defense and DWI attorney in San Antonio who is prepared to fight hard for his clients. With his law partner, Brad Vinson, Jarrod founded Smith & Vinson Law Firm with one main goal: To help accused citizens navigate the criminal justice system.
Jarrod studied criminal justice at the University of Houston as an undergraduate before attending South Texas College of Law in Houston. Jarrod was an excellent student at law school and graduated in the top 20% of his class. At South Texas College of Law, Jarrod was a member of the South Texas Law Review and founded the STCL Criminal Law Society. He also completed several mock trial and criminal trial advocacy courses and earned first place with Brad Vinson in the Garland Walker Mock Trial competition.
Jarrod’s criminal defense experience is extensive. He has previously served as an assistant district attorney at the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and as an intern with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and Harris County Public Defender’s Office. He also served as a law clerk for the United States Attorney’s 
Office. With these roles under his belt, Jarrod is prepared with extensive practical experience in both state and federal prosecution and defense.
Because he has experience as a prosecutor, Jarrod has tried numerous criminal cases before juries and understands the criminal justice system from both sides. He knows how the police and the government build a case against the accused and can use that knowledge to your advantage.
